Who We Are
We're a small team of off-road enthusiasts, truck owners, and gear nerds based in the US. We started BestTowingStrap.com because we were tired of "review" sites that clearly never touched the products they recommend.
Between us, we've owned Jeep Wranglers, Toyota Tacomas, Ford F-250s, and a Chevy ZR2 that's seen more mud than pavement. We've used recovery straps in sand dunes, mountain trails, muddy ranch roads, and one memorable incident involving a boat ramp and poor judgment.
How We Review
We evaluate towing and recovery straps based on:
- Verified specifications — We cross-reference manufacturer claims with independent lab data when available
- Construction quality — Stitching patterns, webbing density, loop reinforcement, and edge finishing
- Real user feedback — We analyze thousands of verified purchase reviews for patterns (common failures, durability over time)
- Value — Price relative to specs and included accessories
- Safety design — Loop vs. hook, projectile risk, wear indicators
Our Standards
We don't accept payment for reviews or placement. Our rankings are based on merit. We do earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our Amazon links — that's how we keep the site running — but it doesn't influence which products we recommend or how we rank them.
If a product sucks, we'll tell you. If a $14 strap outperforms a $60 one for your use case, we'll recommend the cheap one.
